That's not funny, Speedy! :D

Hey KLJ, wasn't it your wife who found the platinum piece too, or am I thinking of someone else?

I'm still working on the list of my finds, maybe this weekend I can get it posted.

Good memory, Rachel! It was in fact my dearly beloved who found that. I could bore some new people with the story, but there are too many former CW forum folks hovering about at the moment. They've all heard that story hundreds (thousands? ) of times.

Went to the bank today and received a roll of quarters that contained all 5 of this years quarters. How often does that happen? :)

I have a teller friend at one of the local banks who really watches out for me.

When she saw me coming to the drive-up this morning, she ran to the safe, and gave me:

    10 JFK's
    1 Sacky
    5 L&C Handshake Nickels
    4 Texas quarters, BU
    2 Tennessee quarters, BU

Nothing really special, just the thought that counts.

    :)

Just now reached into my pocket, and pulled out a 1987 Mexico $1 piece.

Looks (similar size) just like a U.S. quarter.

Coins from Mexico show up fairly often here, due I suppose to the large influx of Hispanic folks, expecially recently.

Anyway, good addition to my small, but growing, foreign collection.

    :) :)

Sorry guys, but it looks like my list of my finds at the bank will have to wait a little bit longer. I had a power outage today, and the time I would have spent organizing the list has now become time spent doing laundry and ironing so I can go to work in the morning.... I will get it together and posted in the near future though. *sigh*

Well, a friend of mine worked in a supermarker like 6 years ago, and the bank gave them a bag of Barber dimes! he has about 200 of them on his home...he doesnt collect coins though (not even after that!)...lucky guy! hehe lol

...the only good find I had was a VG 1936 Buffalo nickel on a McDonalds change about 3 years ago.

Well,I recently got an Aussie 2004 20c. coin in my change when I bought lunch at McDonald's here in Wellington. The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is much smaller than usual. We get a lot of Aussie coins over here in New Zealand - 5c.,10c.,& 20c. coins. We get the occasional Fijian coin & the odd British large 5p. & 10p. coins in change as well.

    $200 in change!

For christmas this year, my in-laws let me go through their water jug 'o change. ;)

After two nights, I was able to roll up over $200, with more than $40 left in pennies in the jar.

Of note, I found (all in G condition)

    1947 WQ
    1903 UK 1 penny
    1918 1c
    1910s 1c (finally!)

    Keep searching!

I had a good day today- I spent most of the day rolling and bagging coin and found all sorts of goodies! Aside from the usual handful of common date wheat cents (best date 1950- not all that rare but I just don't see them all that often), I found a 1948 quarter, 1944 dime, and a Costa Rica 10 centavos. Not too bad if you ask me!

I found a 1910-S several years ago- you should have seen the dance of joy I did... kinda scary! So I can understand the "finally"!

I got a 1995 $1.00 Atlanta ("F") star note in AU condition in change from my coffee this morning. (Sorry, some of us collect currency too). It's unusual to get any 95 note in AU let alone a star note.

No big deal, but what are the odds?

Two Sackies in change from WalMart today, and and a JFK half in change from a small convenience store.

Maybe these coins are starting to circulate? At least in western Colorado.

    :)

People must be cleaning out their storage of 04 nickels, to make room for the new 05 issues that will be coming out later this yrear. Starting to find the 04 variety in pocket change just now in January. Up till now you couldn't find one any where. Things are looking up around here. :p
