Well I wanted to post these.....
but figured someone get their panties in a knot....

So instead I will post this Morgan $
PCI green 1879 s images don't do justice as in hand actually proof like surfaces.
What did I pay?

Now if you are wondering about the SEG slabs the JFSNC produced only 1938 of each proof and matte finish for the Jefferson nickel anniversary struck in .999 silver the exact design that won Felix Schlag the honor back in 1938. However you'll notice that there's a difference...as the mint made him change his art deco design to something what they believed to be a safer choice. As you recall some art deco designs were frowned upon due to exposed breast!
This is a # matched pair limited to 1938 ov each. Segs had the privilege to slab them. On Jeffersons shoulder the letters JFSNC 2002 no grade assigned

I would give 135 for it,.and looks like PCI got the grade right even

 

Jason - that's the earliest PCI, back when they were a reputable grading company.

10 digit serial #, 2 codes. Right after they bought the Hallmark small slab assets and gave up on the photo slabs. Condor's book says 1990 to late 1999/early 2000 (PCI5).

Next was the 14 digit s/n with one code which was late 1999/early 2000 to September 2001 (PCI9).

Finally (last of the green borders until the counterfits and retros) are the 9 digit s/n (PCI11) September 2001 - March 2002 (Leslie Shade ownership).


To tell the legit green border coins, look at the microprinting of the green box on the reverse label. If it says PCI PCI PCI those are legit. If it's blobs, it's not.

I too am horrible on this thread, but it sure is fun to guess!

 

It's all about the fun and the points don't matter (Whose Line Is It Anyway? reference).

 

I'm too competitive for the points not to matter...lol. I do like the fun.
