Was weighing some of my wheat pennies looked at this one for some reason I turned it over looked at the back it's got a huge die crack running up the middle of it I don't believe it's PMD let me know what you think thank you and it's in good shape for 48 penny found in Pocket Change
Willy IMO and I have been wrong many times it looks like your coin took a hit, now that's just my opinion the way the (N) appears to be pushed. But as you know there will be more experience people along shortly. LOL Dave
Not a Die Crack.. It is a Lamination Error A Die Crack is a totally different issue. I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/lamination-loss-after-strike/
I think your coin might fall under “intrinsic metallic inclusion” which in some cases are the cause of Lamination errors. http://www.error-ref.com/improper-alloy-mix/
I no this isn't my thread but I want to say thanks my first thought was lamination error, but when I saw the (N) pushed is why I thought PMD. Thanks guys learning something new everyday. Lol Dave
