1978 silver nickel or did they test other materials?

    Hey Guy and girls. Going through coins and found an nickel looks like silver or platinum. Compared with my old nickels looks different . I put it between 2 1978 nickels. And it’s not missing gloss on coin. I haven’t weigh it yet feels lighter then others?

    It's not silver. The old nickels are just worn.
    The 1978 looks normal.

    The 78 appears to be normal but it does appear to have either MD or DDD but it's hard for me to tell when I enlarge your pic it's to blurry. IMO

    It’s has an high pitch sound feels different also.

    K when I did the drop test I thought not but what can it be?

    Definitely not silver.

    It's 75% copper and 25% nickel.

    If you really want to be sure you'll have to do an XRF test.
