I personally think that if that T$ is AU, it would go AU-58+ today. It would be an incredibly desirable coin, and it still is. The ANA holder makes up for the lack of 58+ designation in my eyes. I also believe you in the color of the toning. Those holders are well know for causing that color and type of toning.
I agree. Consider it a steal. As for the 90. Eyebrow is a bar fight. Anyone else seeing this. Me being a morgan newbie
Think your the winner on that deal. Think you stole the 78. Might be properly graded. But i would give it a bump
Where abouts in Wisconsin @Broncoholic ?? I travel the state 2 or 3 days every week and it seems coin shops are few and far between
@heavycam.monstervam The show was in Waukesha, but there are several shops in the surrounding Milwaukee area. PM if you want specific locations for shops.
Thanks bud, i will Pm when i get a chance. I tried google once for LCS up there & the only ones were in Madison or Milwaukee . I actually have a stop in Greenfield on Layton ave and another stop in Campbellsport BTW I love yer state!! Trucks can do the same speed as cars ....hard liquor in every gas station and a cheese shop every 10 miles
If this is out of bounds please ignore, but never having been to a coin show I would like to understand a couple things about these prices: ~ If you are not a dealer how can you get the trade dollar, which PCGS values at $485 in AU55 (and $140 more in the hoped for AU58 ) at such a wholesale price? Was the seller especially motivated? ~ On the other hand the VF30 Morgan sells for $110 over the PCGS price of $140. Granted that CC's command a premium, but it looks like maybe you were the motivated one here, maybe due on part to the great deal on the trade $?
I can only guess that the VAM 4 increases the value of the Morgan, unless the PCGS price is FOR the VAM 4 variety. If it is, this is a case of what I call "Carson City Fever". As for the Trade Dollar's "discount", the market difference between PCGS and old ANA(CS) plastic is frequently FAR overdone. There is a HUGE cadre of dealers who are PCGS "snobs". Keep in mind, there are no "qualifications" or "license" to be a coin dealer. You CAN BE a total dope and be coin dealer. If you look real closely, it's kinda common.
I should of pm you last Fall I was up in Milwaukee for work we could of went out for a beer. FYI no longer work for the company when you were in Maryland.
Come to Maine or New Hampshire had a truck pulling away from me with an empty flatbed and I was doing 80+. Some of those log truck drivers are kamikazes too. Beer in every gas station half have hard liquor and New Hampshire has big state run liquor stores on the interstate. And cheap tax free booze. We got cheese too but we really have fresh seafood and lobsters. Even in the turnpike rest areas fresh produce on the side of the road in season (stop and get blueberries or strawberries for a snack) and in Maine you can carry concealed without a permit (though we still can’t shoot the tourists)
