Would like your thoughts on 2016 Penny

    Hello everyone,
    Bought a few rolls of pennies and found this 2016 penny, just wondering what would cause the dark color on this coin.

    The copper outer layer has been scraped off revealing the zinc core. Spend it before it rots away.

    Looks perhaps as if some chemical agent got on it. Maybe detergent? Anyway it’s worth 1 cent.
