Also any idea if this is a lamination error on my 1946 copper wheat penny and/or of any value on this? the photos do not adequately show the actual copper color. thanks everyone!
The die state is to early and also shows that it isn't an indirect design transfer. That Image, definitely looks like Lincoln?
so that's lincoln ghosting on the obverse? Does that mean it was caused by another coin or by the lincoln die itself?
Indirect design transfer is supposed to be a characteristic of repeated striking of the planchets. After repeated use of the die's, if soft enough will start to gain an impression. of the opposing side.
Definitely not a fake.. Not doctored. As I stated earlier it could be a Strike Through issue. It's a Minor Mint Error.
Hello very new at coin hunting. New member here now. Can someone help me alittle? The middle 1946 is like a gold or yellow color, is that an error?
Still not up to speed on using this site, so I am leaving my email Edited: removed for safety USE Conversation ( PM) if anyone leaves a comment for me and I don't know how to get back to this thread please feel free to email me about the 1946 yellowish gold wheat penny.
Do not put your e mail. As for the color since it doesn't look plated it was probably harshly cleaned.
Ok thank you very much for the info, and my apologies for that, I thought I could post that on a thread.
