I'd like to get an idea of what this dollar is worth. The reverse is better than the obverse but the reverse clearly shows a decent rim bump at just shy of 7 o'clock. There are two smaller bumps one at 9 and the other at 11.

Comparing this coin to Photograde it looks like an F15 but possibly lower due to the rim bumps.

    Your thoughts?

I believe it will grade at least VF20, by today's standards. The rim bumps do make it a bit of a problem coin though.

Agree at least VF. And I love the way the features are framed by the toning. Quite an attractive piece.... Rim bump is a new term to me. That simply a reference to where the coin was dropped or struck causing the rim to deform at some point during its life?

@Randy Abercrombie For lack of a better word I just called it a rim bump. I thought the word 'damaged' would devalue the coin too much. ;););)

Do you think it's financially worthwhile to get it graded?

    Define worthwhile.

A quick and cheap trip to ANACS or ICG to verify authenticity may not be a bad idea if it makes you feel better and/or if the plan is resale, but it's a problem coin, period.
