..idk..i see possible casting bubbles and a seam, so i'd be leaning towards a copy, but that doesn't make it so.
ahh!..curse me the blabbed lip(and all of us critics) yes! it's a fine coin repro for Easter. very well done kolan
i have my doubts about it being "real"..altho it might be. as a copy it would worth $10-15 bucks prolly.
Why would you post that tourist reproduction? Are you saying they match? (They don’t) Are you saying the OP coin is a common tourist reproduction? If so, post another reproduction that matches.
I know almost nothing about the type... so there’s that... But... I do know these are often faked and 99 times out of 100 when these come from someone asking about the authenticity of one they bought on eBay... the coin is fake. So it’s easy to jump to the conclusion this one is as well. However, there is some obvious hesitation to condem it because there are some signs that it could be ancient. The style doesn’t seem totally off and those edges don’t scream cast. So as with all coins, nothing (besides obvious fakery) can be definitively concluded from photos. I’d take it to the next local coin show or to the dealer in your area and get someone with some expertise to check it out in-person.
Thank you for posting the coin, @kolyan760 ! The few of these that I have seen offered by dealers on VCoins are very expensive (None are under $1200).
