...Wow that's a lot of 2's in the title... I went to the bank for my normal weekly pickup of halves and and cents and the teller was happy to tell me that someone had deposited $500 in Ikes. She said they kept them especially for me. I pulled all the 72Ps and checked them for T2s. I'm fairly certain that these 2 coins are Type 2s. Thanks for looking! Type 2 #1 Type 2 #2
On a whim one day at a bank, I ascertained if they had any Ike dollars. They had about 20 loose in a bank envelope... Like you, i actually found 2 '72 type 2s amongst those coins. In gem bu or better they are worth up to $1500 believe it or not. Mine were like 62/63 range ( similiar to yours i think (?) I traded mine at a show for a couple slabbed ms65 silver quarters that had nice eye appeal. This has been a few years ago, so the prices may have went up/down since then. Ive never found another since. There is an IKE guy around here-or 3 but, in my drunken state of mimd idk what their handle is unfortunately. The one guy has calvin & hobbes avatar.
@furryfrog02 , I think the coolest thing is you have a such a great relationship with that bank that they look out for you. Very cool. Nice finds as well.
