Okay - felt like taking a gamble on these two mainly because I wanted the 50-D and I don't have any 09 VDB's. Both came to $25 including shipping from the same seller. Seller only has 10 previous transactions 6 from buyers that were very happy with the transaction. Selling many things and only a few coins.

Pictures leave a lot to the imagination - what do you think? If they turn out to be better than the pictures show - (like full steps) - I know it will have been a GREAT deal. How much do 1909 VDB's go for in F to EF condition? Look at Abe's mouth - something looks funny?

    Tell me what you think....

    Thanks

    Darryl

First off, I think you did pretty well. :thumb: That 50 D is gorgeous. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: The 09 VDB is very nice, looks like it was thumbed, but other than that I grade it a nice VF-25. Both very nice additions to any collection. :thumb:

Thanks Phoenix - That 50D does have potential! The pictures were so small and fuzzy on the listings they didn't get much bidding. I am anxious to see that nickel in my hands to see what the reverse looks like and if there are any issues hidden by the picture quality. The sheen on it sure makes me hope for the best. The cent I just couldn't let go do to the reduced shipping costs and price of $10.50. Hopefully she ships quickly!

    Best Regards

Thank you, I was hoping the numbers were above the $ I paid :thumb:

I have not bought to many cents so I had no idea what the going rate was. I paid $12 for the nickel plus $2 in shipping so I felt that I was a potentially good deal (as long as the coin has no hidden issues).

I appreciate the response - Thanks again!

    Welcome Rons!!!

Thank you Rons - I feel privileged that your first post was on one of my threads!

Welcome to coin talk - I hope you like it here!

BTW: It's really okay about the steps - those steps were just a really nice wish I never really expected to materialize. The coin was a great buy considering the picture I had to work with. :smile

First off, very nice coins man! Awesome nickel! I grade it a 65/66, seen some with lots of hits more than that one get a 66 grade, so you did really nice on that. The thing that reall intrigues me now though is the VDB. I am not the best at telling errors at all, but it looks like a possibity that yours might be a 1909P-1DO-001. Looks like there is some doubling going on in the 0 in the date, and looks like it has the marker for it. But I could be wrong, but better safe than sorry IMO. Even if it isn't, I think you did very well on both of your coins man. :thumb:

Phoenix21 - It's just a plain VDB - no doubling - and that's just fine. The 0 has dirt and the photo just leaves you with the feeling there might be something there.

Thanks again for taking a look!
