Opinions, grades and comments please. It is in a non-standard TPG slab. I do not agree with their grade, but I would guess 62 maybe 63 RED. BTW; I don't think I did too bad at $76. Despite the pictures, the wheat lines are full and sharp. Also, the "specs" at 9:00 and 1:00 on the back at the rim are in the slab, not on the coin
Hey, that would look nice in my album. But Id like to ask, if you dont agree with the grade on the slab, might I ask what they graded the coin??? Either way, its a great looking coin at a nice price. Nice find
I believe that it is at least an average good strike to a better than average strike. The only evidence of "weak" is the "O" in "ONE".
I tried to capture the wheat line, but just can't. Probably the slab. Take my word for it - they are extremely sharp and the grain is full and complete.
Nice coin for sure....I'd say 63 RD. As far as strike, notice the slight weaknessin Liberty as well on the obverse. Early Lincolns are notorious for out of parallel die sets, the weakness will appear on the same side of the press, in this case the left side. Look at the depth of the rim and sharpness of lettering on the right compared to the left. With the dies out of parallel, this is what you get, a much harder hit on one side. With the wheats being sharp and full, maybe just the slab is causing the pic to blurr? Lighting? Either way, $75 is sweet. 60/63 bid is $41/$95 and 63 is for RB, not full red. In your opinion has this been cleaned? Hard to tell from pics. Overall, looks like a great buy and value if coin is original.
I guess that there are no more comment, so here is the original slab. Incidentally, Heritage has not sold a red 1919-D this century for less than $120.
Looks like ACG did a pretty good job, grading IS subjective. Thats a nice coin no doubt and well well worth the money. The coin actually looks better in the slab pic, shows alot sharper strike. That just might go 64, dingers and divits look ALOT worse when blown up 100X actual size. Looks 64 in the slab shot for sure.
