Reading up on newer varieties I come up on a 1988 d penny the "G" does not line up. The top of the "G" stops shorter, than the bottom
Looks as though it just had a bit of a grease filled die. I wouldn't consider it to be worth anything else beyond 1 cent.
I didn't explain it good either. In the initials the "FG" the "G" the top comes shorter than the bottom. That design was intended for 1989 right?. Looking at some 1989 now those do line up north and south
Try cropping out all of the unnecessary background, and then resize the image before you post it. By the way, like Frog said, it was probably due to partially grease-filled die. It happens all of the time. Chris
