Ok, Phoenix wanted to see some pics of some of the wheaties in my BU set. So, I decided to take pics of my 25D to see what everyone would grade it as and to get opionions on the toning. Also, to any of you who keep track of what the wheaties like this are going for, what would you say one could expect to pay for this coin??? The observe pictures are just enough out of focus that I cannot see how clean it really is, but it appears to be real clean except a couple rim nicks. It is a very good strike for a year when that si not too common. I think I would say it is a 65RB maybe 64RB depending on the observe. As for the toning, better get someone else's opinion. I am not into it nor knowledgeable about it.
It looks like MS quality but as far as anything specific , We'd need a better picture. Get it out of that album lol. I dont think its been artificialy toned.
Man, did you tell them how much you paid for it DJP? Very nice coin, looks like Album toning, but could be wrong, still very nice NT or not. :thumb: Would you possibly be able to take it out of the album to get better pics, but from what I can see looks like a nice 64 RB. :thumb: What's that under the "E" in cent on the reverse? Ill try to get better pics, but at the moment, I have a giant pile of dead batteries and cant find any good ones. Oh and when phoenix says to tell everyone how much I paid. Theres a seller on ebay that sells rolls of pre 1940 all different lincolns. Anyhow, I buy every roll that I see the seller list. When I see him a roll, I buy it, then contact him and ask to buy everything he has. He usually sells me 5 to 10 rolls at a time for around $6 to $7 a roll. Ive pulled some really nice coins out of the rolls he sells me. None quite as nice as this 25D, but Ive found a few more MS coins and quite a few XF to AU range coins. Some of the better date AU coins are 31D, 22D, and 26S. Ive also found a cleaned 24D with EF details. So, do you think $7 a roll is a good price when Im pulling coins like this out of the rolls????
