How was the show Kanga? I won't be going ,since I've been to 2 shows in the last 2 weeks. I prefer the local shows... much better deals to be had.
Very much like Baltimore Whitman shows for the last year or so. I think attendance was down a bit and the few dealers I talked to tended to agree. That makes the prices a bit soft which is all right with me. But it was easier to belly-up to the tables. Also there were more empty tables than usual but that can be partly attributed to the recent weather (snow!) in the east.
Yeah I kind of figured somewhat as I was talking to Mike at Tough coins wondering if he get a flight out due to the noreaster! But it's all good for the buyer to get a better selection and more room to move....nice pick ups.
Just did a check of my Early Commemorative collection inventory. Out of 156 coins (that includes the ones in gold) I have 104. That's essentially two-thirds. Some of the gold I will never get. What am I missing? -- the Cincinnati set (3 coins) -- some of the Oregon set (12 of them) -- some of the Texas set (11 of them) -- some of the Boone set (13 of them) -- some of the Arkansas set (9 of them)
Those are three of the few I have left to purchase for my type set. They can be spendy. Love the coins.
