    I have these 3 coins that im unsure about. Im not even sure that they are all errors or perhaps post mint damage. I took the best pics I could before my batteries died so hopefully you can see enough of what you need to. Ok the one pictured on top, I think I know what it is but would like my opinion to be backed up. I think its a split before strike. Its half the thickness as it should be and the details are pretty weak. I believe its the reverse of the coin that split off, but would a split after strike have details as good as this coin??? Also the details on the opposite side would be similar to a normal coin Id assume.
    Then the next two coins. I dont know. The one on the left, I think might have been pressed post mint. But to me, it dosent look as though this is the case. I guess Id just picture a pressed coin to look different than this one. Are there any errors that look like this one or do you guys think it looks pressed???
    The third coin, I really dont know what to call this one. To me it almost looks as though its been melted. But the outide layer of the coin dosent apear to have been subjected to heat. Could the zinc inside melt so fast that the outside wouldnt show any signs of heat being applied??? Id expect to see a bluish tone to the coin had heat been applied. Oh and the picture dosent show it, but the rim on one edge of the coin is almost twice as thick as it should be. I guess the best way to explain this coin is that it is alot more 3 dimensional than the pictures show. Some spots are bubbled up while others are sunken in. Has anyone ever seen the likes???

    all post mint damage.
    1) the 1944 D (?) top coin, acid job;
    2) probably a hammer job.
    3) rotting, possibly environmental damage. the copper plating is erroding and the zinc is showing.

    Really Acid will do that to a coin??? This one I truely think is a split before strike, but then again, I know nothing when it comes to errors. And the last one, its not rotting. The Zinc isnt exposed anywhere. The copper is all intact and theres no signs of heat being applied. And thats just what this one looks like, as though it were melted, but I would expect to see signs of heat if that were the case. But the coloring of this one is of a normal circulated lincoln.

    First one looks like acid
    Second one looks either like it was beaten or possibly ground down. Weight might help determine which
    Third one looks like it has been heated till the zinc melted then pressure gently applied in some form.

    All post mint.
