I normally dont go try to search for GtG coins. I surprisingly found this one I believe you made a good sound purchase Ive patiently been waiting for juuuust the right '82S for my short set. As mentioned your photos are much better
So you guys pretty much nailed it. It's either you know what I buy or you are a lot more conservative with grade estimates then the people over at the PCGS Boards. The majority over there guessed MS-66 to 66+. In hand I would grade it at about that. It has spectacular luster, with nice concave fields. It's not a semi-PL, but it is flashy. It is very mark free for a 65. I'd say it was a victim of the grade tightening over at PCGS recently. This one will remain in my collection for quite sometime. It will take a field trip to Jersey of course and see what JA thinks of her, LOL. All in all, I am very happy with this coin. Heritage did a great job of shipping it quickly. It only cost $121.85 shipped, that's a better price than I can find around here at the local B&M's for any MS-65 common date Morgan. I look forward to shopping more at Heritage in the future.
Nice. I was at 65 and thought it a strong 65. Agreed on pcgs being stricter. Ngc too lately. I have no complaints about that as long as they stay consistent which they haven’t so many times
Possibly, but it's also a victim of it's date/MM. Early date S mint Morgan's are famous for their strike, luster and eye appeal. Because of this, the TPGs are often tougher on these dates verses others. My guess is. this coin is a solid 66 from PCGS of it wasn't an early S date Morgan.
@jtlee321 , nice score. I think I saw that coin at the HA auction. I was a point high, but I think the coin deserves it.
