I was looking threw my collection today and noticed my 1992 D is doubled on the front.. mainly the date 1992 and the D also liberty on the left is doubled. the doubling is very faint ( when i looked up double die the pictures i saw were very distinct and clear) is it normal to be faintly double died? on the back some of my letters are taken off like ( i looked this term up) Ghosted? mainly the TATES o in united states of america and the CE of cent on bottom. the coin is in good condition too all steps on the back are clear and its shiny. i will post pictures if this is even worth looking into
shadow: It is possible that it is a double die, but without a picture any opinion is worthless. And, welcome to the forum.
ok the best pics i could get with my cell phone theres also doubling on LIBERTY (not pictured) but you can clearly see like 2 of each letter mainly the ERTY part.
ok after careful inspection the whole front of the coin is doubled not only the date and liberty but i also notice the body of lincoln is also doubled.. to explain it further it looks like 2 seperate strikes 1. a very faint one of the whole front of the coin then 2. a normal strike but slightly off with the initial strike ok hope all i have posted helps lol

Though your pictures are not clear enough to see if they are a 1992d-1dr-001 it looks to me that the "doubling" around the date is actually a shifting of the plating thst is fairly common on the post 82 cents. The "ghosting" on the rear is extremely common. I believe that this is caused by polishing at the mint when they remove die clashes from the dies. This area is where the base of Lincoln's bust would strike in a clash. I have seen literally thousands of these on various dates. Richard
