Error penny

    Hello I foundthis penny can any one tell me what kind of error and maybe a price its very thin and ill post pics

    $0.01 looks like it was on an interstate highway at one time. All damage was done after it left the mint. Welcome by the way!

    Where did you find it?
    What's it's totally history from leaving the mint until it's in your hands?
    Have you found any other pennies?

    looks like general heavy wear to me. As you pay more attention to your change, you'll find various stages of wear. It's like tires on cars, sooner or later they're bald from wear.

    It looks like the coin version of sea glass.

    Environmental damage plain and simple it didn't leave the mint in that condition. IMO

    Looks like a normal nickel with a bit of damage.

    Robert, some dings on the date, but also it was struck with a worn die ( they expand slowly during use), so the letters and date are pushed closer to the edge. Normal activity, so no extra value. Jim

    1955-D is a nickel. The 1955 Philly has a small premium.
    The 1955 D over S is a valuable coin. Always show both sides.
    I have a 1955-D which I thought could be a D over S. My old LCS coin guy felt it was a D over D.
