1967 Roosevelt dime. No mint mark. Double Clipped Planchet Error? Please feel free to post opinions, comments and possible value. Thank you. Sherry
No Mint Mark just means it was minted in Philadelphia It is not Double Clipped.. It is damaged! The edge shows PMD - Post Mint Damage Not a Mint Error
Thank you for your reply. I thought the "blobs" on the edging on both sides were mint errors. Not to mention the swirl on the hair on the front side. I sent the pics to be appraised (based only upon these exact same pics), but curiousity was getting the better of me, so I thought I'd also post the pics here. Again, thank you for your input. Sherry
My expert says that on a good day, to the right person, and in the right auction, it can fetch as much as.......10 cents
A clip more often than not, look similar to these: Note: There are different types of clips as well. Here is a good site for reference: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=clip
Sure. Coins.com. I inherited a small coin/currency collection when my uncle passed away last summer and know nothing about collecting...but this inheritance has inspired me to learn! I must say, it's been challenging....especially with the foreign coins and currency...but it's been a fun adventure as well.
Sorry, Sherry, but this is nothing more than post-mint damage. It could have been caused by almost anything, and the mark in FDR's hair probably came from a counting or rolling machine. Welcome to the neighborhood! @Tat2 FYI These are the kinds of things we get practically on a daily basis. Chris
Thank you, Chris. I've been scanning the web for a few hours - exploring coin errors, etc. I would almost think this may be a cud situation...but that's because I'm just learning. lol
