1957 cent I think I finally found a doubled date!?

    1957 D wheat back coin I found going through some old coins.

    Did I find something kinda good here for the collection?

    Any opinions greatly appreciated

    And sorry, but the doubling is mechanical rather than the regular doubled die type.

    3 die chips cool as far as the rest MD (Machine Doubling) IMO

    what about the first pic the date the 5 in 1957 is that also considered mechanical doubling

    Nope, mechanical. BTW there's 4 die chips, B,U,9 and 5.

    Wow.. thanks guys! I had no clue about the die chips

    I have about 20 1955 cents that I came across that I need to look at. Anything to look for other than the famous 1955 doubling?

    Yep, just like it. Mine had a whole lot more crud on it though. Now, if we could just do a little time travel and see if it came from the same die.;)

    I'd be willing to say that they are the same Die.
    Just one is an earlier Die state.
