I'm looking for the book The authoritative reference on Lincoln cents, but I can only find it on Amazon for $99. I saw a couple of Heritage auctions for the book and it sold in the $20-$30 range. Now I know that the condition of the book might vary, but that much of a difference? Does anyone know where I might find this book for a reasonable cost? Thanks, David
The best search engines that I know of for books is right here - BOOKS . Use them all, there are sometimes large differences in price.
Don't know if there are any coin shows in your area but if so ask there. If there is none there for sale, ask any dealer selling books if they can get you one. Don't know how or where they get them but at coin shows some dealers sell books for way, way less than normal selling prices. I find many books for the cheapest prices on Walmart web site. Not sure if they have one but for prices, usually the best anywhere.
Sorry, the title of the book is The Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents by John Wexler. Anyway, I'm going to the FUN show in Orlando in Jan, so I guess I can look there. Cheers, David
David - the first link I checked, Abe Books, has it for $66. Doubt you'll find one for less than that.
AARRGG!!! My dreaded numismatic disease is spreading! Now not only do I have to hunt down and buy rare coins, but I also have to hunt down and buy rare books about those coins! I thought it was in November... Cheers, David

Don't feel bad - that's all I look for anymore. One thing - I have never known a book to go down in value. Coins do
One thing about books... It has finally allowed me to participate in a mail-bid auction. I've never done this before, I'm not sure what exactly I am doing, or what happens if I win, but still it's fun! You do have to be a lot more patient that the immediate gratification that is eBay...
