I bought a $25 box of pennies from BofA. I was hesitant due To the odds of me receiving a box that were all new coins or at least more than half new coins so I asked the teller if there was anyway they knew whether or not the boxes that they had were new or old, if there was a way to tell at all and she said no because they’re sealed and can’t open them up so they don’t know what they get. Definitely not the words that I wanted to hear so I told her I was just gonna take my chances because I felt LUCKY and I would go ahead and get a box. She brings it out I go out to my car I couldn’t wait to open the box so I took my car key and opened the seal. I pulled out one roll and looked to find there were two old coins on each side and then I grab another roll same thing another roll same thing this whole entire box of coins are old coins mixed with a few of the newer ones I was going through one of the rolls today and found this dirty penny and I could barely tell what the numbers are for the date. So with my fingers I just gently rubbed some coconut oil and water to remove a little bit of grime over the last two numbers. I do believe I have a 1943 copper(not picking up with a magnet) penny. I can’t see the mint mark but I do believe this is a definite. Please let me know your thoughts. I apologize for the pics the coin is not in best condition but OMG!!!!

The coin is too far gone to tell.

The coin is so damaged it is impossible to verify the actual date. I am 99.999999% sure that isn't a 1943 copper.

Please don't take this wrong, but consider applying the basic idea behind Occam's Razor to this and ask yourself what is more likely: that you just happened to find a 43 copper in such terrible condition, or that the coin's condition is responsible for what may, remotely, appear to be a date most anyone would just love to find. Pareidolia impacts every one of us and is a perfectly normal part of the human experience.

While there can be exceptions, this will usually serve you very well in your searches.

I am seeing the type of 3 on the 1943 and I am also seeing a straight line and left downward diagonal line which seems as a 4 to me because the “1” has no diagonal line just a straight line. But regardless I’m taking it right now to a place I know very well out here in Vegas to see what the deal is. I appreciate the posts and I understand how you all would think I’m going nuts over here but this is why I started this for the thrill of it all bad or good. So I’ll let you know what I find out. I sure hope you are all wrong lol. But you probably aren’t. I have to learn my way it may be the hard way but it’s my way.

I know how eyes play tricks too but I sat here comparing photo after photo and looking at the 3 and looking at the 4 on those photos then looking at my photo. It just seems that the 4 is exactly the length as it cuts off at the middle of the bottom of the 3 and the 3 is elongated and the shape of the 1943 pennies I looked up that are copper. I am trying to do a picture over picture right now to see if everything lines up correctly. Yes the coin is damaged so I believe the numbers have been shifted more to the left except for the 3. This is why there is such a gap between the 4 & 3. I know you all don’t see it but I sure do and I will do my darndest to prove it now especially with all the doubts. I thrive on this kind of stuff. Out on a mission I’ll get back to you all. Thank you a bunch!!!

In some of these peoples' worlds, apparently Occam doesn't shave. I've found too many people consider EVERYTHING a 50/50 proposition - either a thing will happen or it will not. We see these people queuing up for lottery tickets all the time. They pay the "lack of mathematics education" tax so I don't have to.

    Good for you!

Even though I don't believe anything will come from it, I absolutely congratulate you for the effort to make your case. In fact I consider it somewhat of a breath of fresh air. Kudos!

Aside from those, umm, "reinvesting" our tax dollars anyway. ;)

"Reinvesting" is "stuff", assets, infrastructure. Salaries and wages are "spending". That is, until the Spinmeisters get ahold of it. Then everything is a lie. One of the highest paid guys at the Capitol writes "talking points", aka the official lie.

    Uhh.... okay, I guess.

Just stop into a store with lottery at certain times of the month. You can't miss it.

Maybe it's an 16th century prototype? You know, Nostradamus was way ahead of his time.

Understood, but a little excitement is good for the heart.

And what I said is still unquestionable fact. ;)
