Sure does but the "D" Mint Mark and the coin stick to your finger, then you have to ask the wife for her' Fingernail Polish Remover! It's embarrassing to say the least! Not only are you already feeling guilty about altering a coin but now your wife thinks that you may be a Cross Dresser.:rolling::eek:dd:

I think it's a legitimate topic of discussion for this forum. We're here to spot the fakes, not to create them.

Are you concerned we'll give people ideas?

Yes I think he is, cause since this is a public forum, anyone can read how to do it and attempt it unfortunatly. Might be something to talk about though email or pm perhaps. But these days you really can't be too sure, which is real sad.

Yeah, but there is some knowledge that should not be shared - knowledge that could be used to harm or take advantage of others.

Now heres what I meant exactly. Someone is again selling a fake 14-D, as a fake, and it is only mentioned casually in the title and in a large, wordy listing from a legit seller. I wonder who is going to be disapointed or ripped off. I just hope it is not a gift or something.

When I report these things it is not to be an ebay cop, it is to help others. Look at this listing and the price. A Damn shame. I cannot remember who made the cop remark, but it is you whom I hope is on the receiving end of one of these someday. Well deserved.

Maybe my way of going about it, the high joke bid was wrong, and I retracted it in due time. The seriousness of the item was not a joke.

$55.00 and gaining for a 10 cent coin.

Geez, that coin ended for a $100! Man, maybe you were on to something Arizona Jack, someone I think is going to be really disappointed. :(

Keep in mind, that is a decent alteration, well, better than most. The wrong person could buy it to resell even, making it worse. Thats why I hate to see this stuff sold in the first place.

True very true, backs up even more what I said that someone is going to be very disappointed in the end, works here too. I honestly don't understand how people can do that.

At least the seller was honest about it being an altered coin.

Too bad that the next seller won't be as honest.
