That's the beauty of it! It's like gambling, except you never lose!!

Bought $8 in CWR cent rolls. Found my first IHC (1903) & a pretty nice 1956-D. I have the fever for cents now that I found an Indian!

Big time congrats! They are a scarce bunch, but those are particularly nice!

If I found dimes in cents searches, I'd be stoked, with search [no] luck, of late...

Argh! I can’t wait to start half dollar rolls! Just opened a bank account today! And my biweekly check comes tomorrow afternoon!

I wondered too but it looks pretty uniform and could not detect scratches so not sure, nuMRmatist.

It can be sometimes rewarding, often times frustrating. It helps if you are trying to build an album or two in addition to hunting silver. That way you have “finds” in every box!

Hey All. Once again i searched yet another box of halves and found nothing. So after dumping them at the bank i called a branch i frequent and they had $ 30.00 in CWR's. I picked them up and found 7 - 40%ers and 3 - 90%ers. I don't know about you all but my luck has been with CWR's lately. Happy hunting.

I agree...I have searched a little over 20 boxes of halves and found a total of 1 90% and 8 40%. However, in that same amount of time with teller trays and CWR I have had 4 full rolls of 40%...too many single 40% to count and 4 90% including 2 walking liberty. For me the percentages with the teller trays/CWR are astronomically better than boxes.

Teller tray finds and CWR are hard to find in my area due to it being a big city with a ton of CRHers. I get them from time to time but do not seek them out as much as I used to. Heck, I used to spend whole Saturday Mornings hunting for Teller Trays and CWR. Wasn't a good pay out long term.

My experience while visiting in-laws in Orange County, California agrees with @Bman33
Too many CRHers out here. Nearly every bank branch I stopped at had CRWs and/ or teller tray halves. I’m talking many stops to get coins, not 1 silver. And, I could not find a single MWR let alone a sealed box. I’m ready to get back home where pickings are much easier. :yack:

Nice finds. I gave up cents a few weeks ago, wasn’t getting anything! A couple AUs ‘59-‘82 but that’s about it. Most were 1979 so now I have almost a full roll of Vg-AU 1979s. Lol

No lie , found the same coin yesterday in a CWR as well, forgot the date though. At first I though it was some denomination of a euro.

Where do you live that you get boxes like this? I'm from NYC and it's slim pickens here. Last 4 boxes I went through, I got only 8 40% and a few NIFCs. I also seem to think Loomis wrapped rolls produce a lot more silver than the N. F. Strong & Son rolls that I always get here in NYC.

    2 boxes of dimes today = 1962 and 1963 both Denver. I'm at 28 since January 1. 3-16-18.jpg
