Yes, I have recieved quite a few of them myself. They are not really considered an error, just what happens after being circulated for awhile. Might not be yours, but it sounds it man. Sorry. BTW, welcome to the forum! :thumb: Phoenix
1978 D I did not think it was uncommon. I suppose error is in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for the fast replies and the welcome.
Could you post a pic? A die chip is a possibility too, sorry if I offended you by coming off wrong or anything. It doesn't sound like an error to me, but might be man. A pic would help though. :thumb: Phoenix

most likely a worn out die. alot of coins from the 70's and 80's had worn dies and got chips in them from overuse.
