Which might pose an interesting question...Would David Sundman (Littleton's owner) have a dollar value vested interest in this show? Hmmm.

OMG, Littleton Coin... I almost forgot about them... How they can sell so many coins at such crazy prices is beyond me. I mean, HSN is a tv network and i can sort of understand their pricing, but Littleton Coin gets people by mail!

Littleton coin's facebook page has over 33k likes, where as the American numismatics association (ANA)'s facebook only has 12k likes... How can a scam coin dealer be more popular than the ANA??? This is making my blood boil...

They are not really scammers, just way overpriced. They have been around since the 1940's. But again, it's all about marketing and they have a lot of overhead just as most B&M dealers do. But, again, another one to stay away from unless you are just picking up a couple of their fairly priced direct mail marketing items and then get out.

Yea, i know they are a legit business, but when they send out mails with scratch offs that always guarantee a "Congratulations you win such and such", it's not far from being a scammer.

I happened to see this episode. I had to shut it off after they started selling "Secret Silver" Kennedy Halves (40% 1965-1969 [no '70 of course]) as 'uncirculated' with obvious jaw & cheek wear for "close to melt value" of 13 coins for $99.95! And comparing them to $20 and much more in a "nationwide catalog" Jeeeeeze!!

Yea, and i'm guessing they probably pick out the good ones to show on the show too. The coins people get are probably not as good. $99 for 13 40% silver halves is over $7 per coin, which is probably one of their better deals... Not too bad, if it is indeed uncirculated, at least not too bad for HSN pricing.

By the way... The 8PM Coin Collector show is live right now on HSN. You can see it on their youtube livestream:

    Let's laugh together!

Or more likely they'll realize they've been fleeced because they didn't know better and instead of spending more money on coins, decide to steer clear of what they don't understand.

If they have educated themselves enough to understand they've been fleeced, then they probably know where to get them for a fair price. Hopefully at that stage, they'd be hooked on coins, or at least some of them will be. So that's a win for this hobby. If HSN can get some of the "mainstream" viewers into coin collecting, that's a win for us.

Oh god, i'm seeing new Ebay listings of the same coins from HSN, the same ANACS labels. People are buying from HSN at 2x the market price, and then list them at 3x the market price... Should i send them messages to urge them to return the coins to HSN while they can? Is that rude? I want to help these people... If they don't return them while they can, they will never get their money back.

I had it on tonight. The first time in a lllloooonnnggg time. I was bored while playing poker on my phone. As usual, I just got upset with the blatant lies. I feel bad for the purchasers of his stuff. Especially when they find out how badly they've been taken.

Yea i feel bad too, i actually message a seller who listed one of these HSN ANACS graded coins, and urged them to return the coin. The seller replied, and obviously know nothing about coins... They seem to be taking my advice so far. If you guys see them on Ebay, message the seller, let them know they got scammed, and urge them to return the coins to HSN.

I watch all the time. At least I get to see coins on TV. I like to calculate how over-priced each item is. And he often shows new releases.

Just don't buy anything, and its good fun.

He slipped up tonight and said "Eisenhower silver dollars" during the proof sets presentation. They are of course clad, not silver.

There is actually one product I've seen lately that had me wondering about if it is overpriced and by how much.... it is the MS70 1986 Silver Eagle for $399. Now of course its ANACS, not PCGS but is that price really that bad?

Yes those are the same reasons i watch the show, i love seeing coins on the "big screen", on a pretty big network, HSN.

Now regarding the MS70 1986 silver eagle, when i saw that an hour ago, i immediately started searching Ebay. $399 is a good/ not badprice for MS70 1986 silver eagle, however MS70 ANACS is not MS70 PCGS or NGC. I checked sold listings, and i saw the same HSN ANACS MS70 sold from around $250 to 350. So that's lower than the $400 price tag on HSN, it's probably one of the "better deals" HSN is offering, but still people are selling them at a loss. I sent one of the sellers a message, and hopefully they'll return it to HSN for the full $400 refund.

You can buy an MS69 on eBay right now for around $40 in PCGS or NGC plastic. If it truly is a 70, it's not a bad price, but would you trust ANACS on the grade?

BTW, I was watching that too.
