Have no idea of age, but I would Google Joe Lyons in Scammons, Kansas and see if he owned a store there. Possibly a company store, seeing as there a coal mines there.
That's not a coin- it's a token. By the looks of it, I'd say it isn't any older than 50 years. Try doing google searches of "Joe Lyons Scammons, Kansas" etc. and you might find something.
Are you stating that it's strange because of the way it's designed or because you have never seen one before? As stated.. a token. I have several in my collection - These are pretty old. Think of the value of 5 Cents 50 - 100 years ago compared to today. Yours could be from anytime pre 1950's But does not make them very valuable.
If you go to http://tokencatalog.com and search "Spade", you can see several different types of Spade Tokens... looks like most of them come from the 1910's through the 1930's.
