Before I was able to post photos on cointalk because I was less than smart enough to ask for help, I sent a post and it was answered by pattyman. He without seeing this coin correctly stated that it is a damaged coin after mint...His answer was supported by a few dealers that I was able to send a photo to with email. I had checked on coin tracker and there was a mention of a D stamped over a ZERO on a 1940 wheat but there was no photo of that coin and I now have been told that no such mint error exists. I have now decided tha t when ever I have a question about some coin I have found that I will pick the minds of people who know..that being on cointalk.
Asking questions is always important. The 0 took a hit and mishaped it to look like a D There is no reason for the US Mint to exchange the 0 into an upside down D
Thanks again paddyman..I value your opinion as you have called many of the posts I have read, with a high degree of accuracy. I also have not seen you humiliate anyone and strip them of pride and to me that is a true sign of a good guy.
Oh Believe me you have not seen anything Yet? Everybody likes to have a little fun with a newbie! Especially when there are 10 - 20 folks a day that think they just struck it rich with pocket change! Need thick Skin around here some days.
I failed "feelings" in a college sensitivity class that was a REQUIRED attendance by my department. Professor on the first day announced that the first thing we were going to do was take a test...Moans were heard from the class and the Professor announced that there was no passing or failing the test. That it was used as a poll to be added to a list and computed by a known number for their records. Well I felt much better in that the class would not know how bad I had done in the test. Next day in class the Professor announced that for the first time in the 10 years he had been conducting the class they had a first. He said first I want to ask the student Captain Wilson...did you answer all the questions truthfully? Man was I excited I must have done good...I stood up and said well Sir I answered each question just as I would have done on the street.. Professor went on to say that for the first time in his history THEY HAD A FAILING MARK IN FEELINGS. So you can't hurt what I may not have.
Honestly...even when folks here are hard in newbies here they are pretty tame. It’s just CTs personality. I visit a few other forums (non coin related) that are far harsher. This really is a nice place.
