You should, if the dealer refuses, buy ancients from some other dealer.

Looks like a "bull and horseman" coin from India. Some people on here can date these, but not me. Be patient and welcome to CoinTalk!

Any particular reason you want this coin as opposed to a nice budget ancient Greek coin or a nice budget ancient Roman silver or bronze coin?

How much is the dealer trying to charge you for this?

You could just buy ancients online, you should also ask for a price, I wouldn't pay more than 5 bucks without id. If it turns out to be a Bull and Horseman as @Kentucky said, it wouldn't be "BC era", more medieval, around 700-1300 CE.

It's an issue of Queen Didda, one of the few female monarchs in Indian history.

So certainly not BC, Didda reigned from 958-1003 CE in Kashmir India

Probably your best bet....auctions/ like ROMA/ CNG/ Ars Classica/ Kunker/ Rauch/ Gorny&Mosch or reliable dealers for securing ancient coins.....

Good to see some interest in these. But they can be a bit troublesome to ID.
None of the coins shown in this thread was struck in the name of Didda Rani. Also the first ACSearch link of John Anthony does not show a Didda Rani specimen.
The Opening Post coin has the name of Sangrama Deva Raja. The Ominus1 specimen is in the name of king Kalasa.

This is a Didda Rani Specimen:

With all due respect, if you don't know what a coin is and don't have clue what it is worth, I have to ask why you are considering buying it.

Buy what you like , that's what I do . What good is a coin if you do not like it. That's what I consider puts the most value in the item and collecting as a whole. Aslong as it is the real deal and it is cheap to buy, and you like the looks of it, Go For It.!

Also, it looks like it has a few scrapes where the bare copper is exposed. So that means it is damaged, which knocks off quite a bit of any value it would have.
