Just got it! Trajan Decius, 249-51 CE. obverse bust right, reverse Uberitas standing facing left, holding purse and cornucopia. This goddess was introduced by Decius himself, according to sources. 5.1 gms. RIC 28b ref....he now joins his wife and son in my collection (family "portrait"). POST YOUR COINS AND COMMENTS PEEPS!
Nice! (Wish mine was silver). But as is mine is a heavy lugger. I always liked trajan dec. What a bad@$$! He and his boy, Herennius, died in battle together. #dadgoals. Reportedly the enemy just used some of these sestertius as projectiles. Jk. But they are large and in charge. Here's mine of the man with a saweet Moesia bull lion reverse...
that is a good lQQkin' coin.. the Herennius i have is from V. Mo superior too..(reverse)..now i need to get one of Hostilian to complete the family..
My Decius is the same ADVENTVS as the above coin, so I won't take up space posting another one, but here's my Herennia Etruscilla: Silver Double Denarius Rome mint Obv: HER ETRVS-CILLA AVG Rev: PVDICITIA AVG - Pudicitia, veiled, seated left, holding scepter RIC (Trajan Decius) 59(b) 24mm, 4.6g. and my Herennius Etruscus: Silver Double Denarius Rome mint, A.D. 250-251 Obv: Q HER ETR MES DECIVS NOB C Rev: PIETAS AVGVSTORVM - Sprinkler, simpulum, jug and lituus. Nice addition ! Being myself a TD Divi series collector I have a "moral obligation" to have at least one of each character in the family Here are parents and kids : And a link to the whole collection : http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=216 Q
I need to take proper photos but here’s my only Trajan Decius - VBERITAS just picked it up at the Marietta coin show in Feb.
You got my hopes up expecting to see TRA DEC's. Here are a couple of TRA DEC's. There was a time they were assigned to a branch mint but someone found a die link showing them to be Rome mint.
Sorry about the confusion (and omission)! Let me fix that... I didn't know that about the branch mint assignation. Thanks for the info.
RIC page 124 (vol IV part 3) assigns TRA DEC to Milan along with the TRA DECIVS coins. My only TRA DECIVS is harder to read from being overstruck on a Geta denarius.

Hey I just posted this on another thread a couple of days back but here it is again... and his successor...
yup.. i still need a Hostilian for this family's complete portrait... i just got(by "coin"cidence) before this a Phillip l and was bidding on a trebonianus gallus but didn't win... so...on with the show of the 3rd century Rome..the more you get the more you own..
