Yes, I have around 50 or so/ really like them too. The neat thing is that your Talers/ multiples Talers are like the AV 10 Dukaten/ larger ones, which are unaffordable in perfect quality. I do have one....from Papal States/ 10 Zecchini 1787! One Zecchino=1 Dukat=Scudo'or.
Tha That is a very nice (and very scarce!) Doppeltaler aus Anhalt-Köthen, Panzerman. That one is on my list for next year, or alternatively, one from Waldeck. BTW, the Doppeltaler of the german states 1838-1870 was introduced also to facilitate trade between those states on the Taler standard and those on the Gulden standard. Thus, one Doppeltaler = 3 1/2 Gulden.
Very nice! Excellent detail on that Braunschweiger Doppeltaler I have also just very recently added a Doppelthaler to my collection after few years of no additions. It is an issue from Sachsen Coburg u. Gotha. A coin I have wanted for a very long time. SACHSEN - COBURG - GOTHA Ernst I., 1826-1844. Doppeltaler 1841, Dresden. Thun 362, AKS 70. (sorry for the reflection on the plastic).
I just discovered this thread, and these large silver coins. They are truly amazing!! These die- workers have incredible skills.
Indeed. I love the coat of arms of these old silver crowns. Thats one big reason i collect world crowns and not US coins.
