But it still does not work here. Is there anything it could be but Cointalk's problem?

Nope. I just copied it for the above. Also, the link for Grading Company makes fatal error? is not working now and it used to work.

Cody, What Rlm meant was, I think....why is the price on this coin so high for VF-30 24-S. Sold for $66+ , it's a $15 coin tops !!!

Now Cody, lets put our thinkin caps on for a minute...... We have a 1924 Lincoln cent and we want to add a mintmark. Do you really think it best to add an "S" to the coin?

    Back to topic...what is wrong?
I think what we are seeing is an urgency to win the auction for 1, it's a game, a bidding war. Also, MAYBE , just maybe, people with more $$$ than experience are reading between the lines and wanting to stock up on Lincolns. No problem there at all, but do it SMART.
There have been a long string of auctions on decent, but not fantastic Lincolns that have just gone beyond reason, and the crazy part is, it's just a cpl sellers who can bring these prices. RLm posted a cpl on the 31-S thread. Why? It beats me, it really has me unable to answer that question.

    Look at same sellers 24-D:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130177662509&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOIBUAA:US:1123

Again, a nice coin but not outstanding, a nice XF-40ish 1924-D sold for $188 for a $75-110 coin. I'm stumped.

    Look here:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110199978321&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=001

A full XF with a little green thingy or 5, $36.

$150 differance, and compare strike and wear.

I don't understand Ebay, it's like trying to understand a woman. DONT. Just go along for the ride, and smile once and a while.

An "Untouched, Original Gem" - but the guy doesn't grade coins.

Perhaps his thoughts on untouched is that the bidder hasn't touched the coin cuz it's sure as hell been touched by a lot of other people.

    Another stunning ebay moment.

Another thing to consider is "AU/BU coins" either the people are over paying on purpose, or don't know how to grade. Those coins are strong VFs IMO, but not close to AU/BU. I think people should learn how to grade coins, seems like it's an art that is dying in most cases. JMO.

It is dying I'm afraid as too many people buy the slab and in too many cases ANY slab.

I consider to be a decent grader and somewhat strict. I'm NOT a professional but at least I've taken the time to learn what I can. Not enough people even attempting that these days.
