On most coins that would be a MS61, but considering how generous the grading often is on Morgans, I would raise it to MS63.
Since before I learned the correct way. This was actually purchased a few years ago before I had any toners.
Everyone who guessed MS 66 was correct! I had this coin next to an MS 67 CAC and couldn't see much of a difference. It's virtually mark free (particularly in the focal areas like the field and the cheek). @jtlee321 alas it cost me more than 65+ money; this coin was purchased before the latest drops in guide price (at the time-in 2014-I paid around the going rate for a 66 on ebay).
Yes there is one mark there (not quite sure if it's a reeding mark), but that is about the only mark visible on the coin (and you have to tilt the coin to see it). From the 63, 64, and even 65 Morgans that I have seen, this mark would not be enough to limit the grade.
To be honest, i didnt even catch that mark until i noticed one of the posters mention it. So i looked again & is why i went with a 65. Nice Morgan
I think the pics made everything look worse than it was. I thought there was a fair amount of chatter at the front of the cheek and face and the right field why my 64 guess But I said in my first post I was having a problem with the pics
Unfortunately the Wooderson Institute of Grading couldn't afford me the time to study the talents of @jtlee321 's photography...one too many trips to Aruba will do that.
Nicely done!! That is a very clean looking and super lustrous coin. You gotta love a 66 '80-S like that, if it were nearly any other date, it'd probably be a 67.
The fact that the "reeding" mark was hard to see, but there, had me guessing some other stuff was probably under emphasized. I'm just muttering, I don't like missing a Morgan grade by so far. Nice Coin!
That's a beauty. Thank you for sharing your collection. No comment. I dont own one. Will get one of i get them a little bit cheaper.
