I've never come across an ATM that dispensed anything other than $20s. I've also never gotten a run of star notes, and rarely a run of new ones -- $20s work hard. I was waiting to see the 00337788 in your sequence; glad you got the 7777!
I took out 400 bucks the first time . Then another 200 bucks . All came out in tens . Nothing in the second withdraw ..
Good score. One of only three districts of star notes printed for the 2013 $10 series. Unless more are printed, it looks like Atlanta (MF*) will be the district to own. Nevertheless, very nice find @Rick Stachowski .
Great find Rick. I'd take out all I could as most are nice numbers. They sure look crisp. Going to the bank on Monday?
I'm leaving in 10 minutes . I used my max. for the day, on my card . Time to use the wife bank card .. I'll post back shortly, going to pickup a pizza ...
You will find most school based banks or credit unions dispense amounts as low as $10, mine does here in Nevada
I'll admit it's rare but there are banks that do. Recently a woman in Colorado went to the ATM at her bank to get $5.00 bills. The machine malfunctioned and gave her $100's. Over the next 5 days her mother and her went to the bank numerous times at all hours of the night. On one trip she made her withdrawal and ended up with 20 hundreds which she turned around and deposited into her account on the same ATM. On another day she withdrew and got 30 hundreds instead of fives. On the same day she purchased a used vehicle and used 30 $100.00 bills for a down payment. The bank has filed for repossession of the vehicle and billed her in excess of $11,000.00. She is fighting it saying it's not her fault so she shouldn't be responsible. I've only seen 1 ATM that dispenses fives, tens, twenties and hundreds and that was over 10 years ago. It surprised me but this made me laugh. She should have reported it.
And when she loses, she'll blame the bank for ruining her life. Sigh. I guess ATMs that dispense only one denomination avoid this type of error, at least.
In 1980 my first ATM gave only 5's and 20's. Around 1993 when they decided to start charging me a small monthly fee, I canceled my card. Once at Home Depot using the self serve, I was supposed to get a dollar change and a 5 came out. They must have loaded that whole 1 slot with 5's. The woman with the 100's is wrong. She is not entitled to keep that money.
I once had an ATM give me three $10's instead of three $5's. The next morning I went to a teller and tried to return the extra $15, and I was told to just keep it. They'd already become aware of the problem, removed the $10's from the $5 slot, and decided that the amount of money they'd lost wasn't large enough to be worth the bother of trying to correct all the affected accounts. I can see how they'd make a different decision if the ATM had been giving out $100's as $5's, though!
Yes I did steal $4 from HD. Usually, I will return something like that. I may have been in a bad mood. In my defense I have returned 4 wallets with money, on my own time and expense. Just in the ridiculous notion that if I ever lose mine, I will get my drivers license and credit card back. (I am pretty sure I won't.) 1 of them was glad. 2 of them slammed the door in my face after giving them the wallet back, and 1 was neutral.
