Nice coin! Rather than a galley, I think it could be a modius, which is a container for grain. If is it a galley, very cool!

Huh, I was going to chime in and say that's a modius at the feet of Annona but apparently on some of Philip's coins, that thing is the prow of a galley! Interesting detail :) Maybe the galley had just returned from the breadbasket of the ancient Western world, Egypt.

Nice antoninianus. I have Denarius of Severus Alexander with Annona:

Gee, hard for me to say if it's a modius or prow... I keep flip-flopping between the two.

I think the one on my Severus Alexander may be an Elder Thing.

Nowadays in Egypt they grow sugar cane in Upper Egypt and a variety of crops in the delta, including cotton. Interestingly, they import most of their grain from the U.S. The bad thing about sugar cane is that they have ovens all over the place to cook down the cane, largely made of blocks scavenged from ancient monuments.

    COOL Philip I @ominus1 !

No, not a Modus, no not a Galley... c'mon, does it LOOK like a GALLEY? I think it looks like a COMMODE at her feet... dropping the paper and ready to flush...

Here is my only Phil Collins I:

The reverse is actually the Rare Horned Jackalope with elongated legs!
