I found this fun quiz on the web. You have nine minutes to name 76 emperors up until the split of the western and eastern empires. I got 64 out of 76 right, but (hint) I forgot Saloninus and ran out of time on the test. Pretty fun - let's see how ancient cointalkers do!!!

I ran out of time at 49% (average was 25% - so not bad for an old guy)

I did pretty well, running out of time at 82%. I'm a fast typist though.

Just because I know their names doesn't mean I know much about some of them.

Might've gone further but for some reason it wouldn't take "Constantine". I typed and retyped many times, checking the spelling, eventually trying alternate spellings. Eventually it accepted the correct spelling. Finding how they wanted some of the other names spelled also ate some time.

It doesn't recognize the Gallic Empire as legit, nor does it recognize various usurpers.

Yeah @TIF - I had the same problem with Constantine - it didn't accept Constantine nor Constantinus, I finally typed in Constantine I the Great and that worked. Also didn't accept Severus Alexander until I flipped it to Alexander Severus. Also, not all of the usurpers were accepted (except Aemilianus)....

It was not a test as much as a guess what they were thinking. I did not realize until near the end that you did not have to go in order so I wasted a lot of time trying to get it to take Pescennius Niger and Severus Alexander. Aemilian was required but Clodius Albinus and Pescennius Niger did not count. It required Diadumenian but not Philip II? Volusian was not accepted unless you added the us on the end but Lucius auto filled Verus. If you typed Maximian it went on to the next so the next name required you to delete the us you typed. It helped to have the dates there. The first time I got 55% and 80% the second but could not figure out what to do about Constantine II and should have given up trying and gone on.

I gave up after about three entries. I hate timed games. I simply dont have the patience.

I did a 88%, had problem with some name for example I wrote Constantine and the system didn’t recognize it, the same with Decius.

I will have to try this when I'm on a proper PC with mouse and keyboard. Using the popup keypad on my tiny phone screen to do any kind of timed quiz would be the ultimate exercise in aggravation.

Well, I got 53 emperors - didn't notice the %. I'm a little weak on the later ones. However, be warned that it is picky in some cases. It rejected some because of no -us endings and the two Constantiuses because I didn't put "I" and "II" in the middle of their names. No fair, because it was inconsistent about this sort of thing.

I tried it again and got 74 out of 76. I missed Valerius Valens and Martinianus, not so well-known, I guess. Anyway, it was fun trying it over.

Thanks for the new test @Nerva - I got 105 out of 109...anyone else willing to give it a shot? It is easier with the spelling of the names...

Well done! I did it a while ago when I hadn't been collecting long. I don't remember what I got then ... or I'm not saying ;-) Just re-did it and got 91. I think this group will push up the average score!
