Interesting strike characteristics.

Got this in the mail today. Cost me $8.50. Probably XF45 in my opinion. And problem-free!

Just put a 63 Indian under the lens. That's a cool strike.

 

Why do the letters TED looked mashed?

 

Very nice '63 with full Liberty and showing diamonds too.

 

Or misaligned dies (not parallel).

 

The reverse looks like a tapered planchet, but the obverse is confusing. I would have expected the effects to be more... tapered. The obverse especially doesn't really have the appearance I would expect.

I was thinking more so struck thru grease....and either taper platchet,or die misaligned.

 

I wasn't on grease because the "wear" areas are the same on both sides.
The dark areas inside the letters, date and shield, if not from an old cleaning,
what is this from?
Nice detail on Liberty, feathers and diamonds. Unsure of grade, I might be at 40.
I believe this is a steal at 8.50. My question is, this same company, why are all their photos, ( this one appears grainy, but most of them seem "oily".) I'd like to see
your photos of the same coin in hand compared with theirs.
