Great Caligula Sallent!! Congrats! I used to have a Caligula which had heavier encrustations. I have since traded mine for some other ancient coins.
That's a nice budget Caligula! That's a nice one period! This would work for a 12 caesar set, but it's my only Caligula coin. Germanicus. Æ Dupondius Struck under Gaius (Caligula), AD 37-41. O: GERMANICVS/CAESAR in two lines above, Germanicus standing right in chariot, R: SIGNIS RECEPT/DEVICTIS GERM/S C in three lines across field, Germanicus, bareheaded, wearing cuirass and short tunic, holding aquila in left hand. RIC I 57 (Gaius); BMCRE 93-100 (Caligula); BN 140-51 (Caligula). Rome mint. 28 mm. 12.2 gm.
you got a purdy good deal on that one for $10..my brass one ain't too much better and i paid i think around $70 for it more than 10 years ago..
Nice snare on the Caligula @Sallent ! I think you got a super value, and now you are really close to amassing the Seutonius Twelve! I have this budget Gaius Little Boot to toss in... RI Gaius Caligula AE As 37-41 CE Vesta seated S-C
Nice coin. And yeah, just good old Nero and Galba left. The Nero should be fairly easy. Galba might take a little patience. Either way I'm pretty sure I'll complete the set this year, which is pretty good considering I was missing 5 of the 12 Caesars on January 1, 2018.
Great cion @Sallent - good to see you're closing in on a goal. It's always a fun time when you hit that stage of being just a couple of coins away.
