I have had a bit of a quiet month and most of my budget has been wiped out already.

I have finally been able to take photos of my recent purchases and thought this one worthy of sharing here.

Julian II - AR Reduced Siliqua

Obv:– FL CL IVLIA-NVS P P AVG, Pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right
Rev:– VOTIS V MVLTIS X, within wreath
    Minted in Lugdunum (//SLVG), Spring A.D. 360 - 26th June A.D. 363
    Reference:– RIC VIII Lugdunum 227

    17.26 mm. 2.0 gms. 0 degrees

East Harptree Hoard, which was discovered near Bath in 1887.

The coin has very dark toning which has made it tricky to photograph. It looks ok on my screen. I hope it looks ok as getting the exposure right has been troublesome.

Nice siliqua. Here's my best Julian, an APIS bull type.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

SHARP bust details! Man, that is dark, I bet that was a HUGE pain to photograph. Looks good on my end!

In fact, this issue begin the 6 of november 360 (quinquennalia in Vienna) and stop the 3 of november 361 (death of Constantius II).

Does anyone have a beardless Julian II Augustus issue from this period? I would consider that a coin worth watching for among commons. Considering the RIC plate coin is damaged, I suspect the count is low.
