Hey all, I'm new to the forum and read a few past posts about misprinted bills and it seems like there's a lot of knowledgeable people here. So my dad acquired this bill in the late 90s by someone who payed to park in his lot. We've put it in a bible on the shelf for years and years and just rediscovered it recently. I have two questions: 1) any guesses on an accurate appraisal or where I can go to find one? (I'm in Boston if that helps) 2) if we did decide to sell where would we list it? Pics are attached -- best and thanks!
Oh if you are in possession of that, that's great. Hard to appraise currency errors, but that's nice. Wait for some currency experts to see the post. That's a beauty. Might want to list it in the currency forum.
Welcome to CT, Sean! I looked at the first photo and thought, meh. Then I looked at the second photo and was knocked off of my chair. That's a great find! Get that into a protective sleeve. DO NOT BEND OR FOLD IT! If it were mine, I would send it for grading and encapsulation.
Thanks, Rick! And thanks for the reply. It's in a protective sleeve now! I've always kept it flat in that book; those pictures definitely make those perpendicular folds look worse than they appear.
That is a great and legitimate error. Something we are unaccustomed to from new members. Definitely take the advice from above and get it certified, that is a really nice error you have. And WELCOME!!
You might try Executive Currency to see what they have to say. Send them the photos also. They specialize in banknote errors.
Wow, that's a really cool note! Make sure you preserve it correctly (don't handle it if possible and put it in a protective plastic sleeve). Also make sure you don't crease or fold it in any way. I wish I could find something that nice in change
Currency has always been an outlier for me, but if indeed real it's very impressive imo. Thanks for posting.
Good question and is something I was just tying to determine. A comparison of what few marks/folds there is seems suggest it is indeed inverted, but....
Thank you all for the insight and warm welcomes! Here is a mirror picture I just took; I apologize for the cellphone quality.
