Not sure small date or large date 1982 penny

    Hello everyone,

    Goodness, I thought I had this mastered identifying large date & small date 1982 pennies. Not sure why this one has me stumped, would like your opinion please.

    You have a large date there. On the small date, the 8 and the 2 are much thinner

    It's a small date, but the condition is too weak to make it worth anything.

    Yep, it's a small date. I had to re-learn this recently as I finally went through a large zip lock full of 1982 & 1982-D cents I had been accumulating. @Michael K took the words (pictures) right out of my mouth, lol. They come from the Lincoln Cent Resource following link:

    I immediately regret my first answer!! That's what I get for grading while giving the kiddos a bath! Small date - line the bottom of the 8 and 2 with the one and if they are even, there ya go. Plus the top of the 8 is more compact and less equal with bottom.
