Sometimes it's a plus. A newbie just bumped a thread about US-Philippines coins, which is an interest of mine. If he hadn't bumped, I probably would've never seen it.
We won't all stay new forever. Walking the line while taking in nuggets of knowledge all the while keeping in mind that it ain't always about me isn't such a struggle, that's the easy part. Putting something on the table hoping truly that a good lesson comes from it is a challenge for me but also a certain desire. Because I've ran out of or don't have the great literature in hardback (yet). But some people don't appreciate the fact that there are less experienced people who are serious. And will make mistakes that arent so unique or in the appropriate way of things.
No need to be sorry, just do the best you can do. I'm no good at phots of coins either, instead I have tried to do my best in outdoor situations, photographing, nature, trains, covered bridges, etc. I tend to use my scanner, but sparingly. If you are only working with a phone camera, there are cheap alternative snap on units for the lens that can help focus in on details of a coin. If you do decide to build any type of print library, just don't ever buy or read "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change". This is the type of info that leads many newcomers here thinking they have hit the jackpot. Real life just does not work that way. BTW, my ex had a brown thumb also and killed everything but me. I gave her, her own garden so she would not kill mine. LOL.
Oh no no.... I been collecting for too many years to count. Old Hand with coins. I won’t be posting my pocket change. Just a newcomer to 21st century devices and proper forum etiquette.
