This is my current example. It is the O-112, 50/20 variety, and as I understand it by far the most common variety of the '07 CBD's. It was relatively inexpensive, bought at Summer FUN a few years ago. I grade it VG10 using criteria I use for CBD's. Would this about right? I want to take the opportunity while I am visiting the U.S to upgrade this, but with a scarcer variety, if possible also in better grade. Would appreciate any tips/suggestions on which variety would be interesting for the upgrade, and if possible, sources. Thanks,
Are you going to be attending a show while you are here? Or just in general, are you asking for US based dealers of Bust halves? The 4 listed below will probably be at any major show, or you can contact them. Sheridan Downey is one of the most respected early half specialists: https://www.sheridanscoins.com/ David Kahn is also a high quality dealer: https://davidkahnrarecoins.com/ JJ Teaparty is good, but can sometimes be pricey for the quality. Choose carefully. Their staff is excellent and knowledgeable, though: http://www.jjteaparty.com/ And if you want the absolute highest quality, Coin Rarities Online is fantastic: http://www.coinraritiesonline.com/ I've dealt with all of these companies (and 3 of them within the past year). I highly recommend all of them. Minor point of correction, CBD would be Capped Bust Dollar (which wasn't made). The accepted acronym is CBH, for Capped Bust Half.
physics-fan, thank you for your kind help with the 1807 CBH. One of the links you highlighted has an example which may interest me. I would like to attend a show while I am here (South West Fl), but am not aware of any in February/March.
There are always coin shows in Florida! I'm not sure how big any of these shows are, but if you check the list here, you might find one in your area: http://www.coinshows.com/florida.html
