Found this in some change, has a gold look to it. Same as a Sacagawea dollar. I have an uncirculated dollar so I compared them side by side. Quarter is a 2006-D Colorado. Here are some pictures. Let me know what you guys think.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Looks like ED to me.. Environmental Damage or toning on an 11 year old Quarter.

From what I am aware of... Quote - "The Massachusetts Quarter is the only known State Quater struck on an experimental planchet that is dated 2000 or later. There are approximately 15 known 1999 State Quarters struck on Experimental Planchets. All five states in the 1999 series (DE, PA, CT, GA and NJ) have been discovered." - closed quote https://mikebyers.com/21151958.html

Sorry, but that quarter is NOT a
    Experimental Planchet.

    It's simply 'environmentally damaged' -
the color and surfaces you see on it all
occurred after the coin was in circulation.

    It's not a mis-annealed planchet, or a wrong
    planchet, or an experimental planchet.

I've handled quite a few of those, and they
are VERY different in color and look.

Your coin is a normal coin - the reeding and
copper core on the edge are normal, I'm sure.

Even if it is plated, that's considered post mint damage.
I have a gold plated South Dakota (looks better in hand)
It's worth a quarter. These gold plated quarters have sold for a little more than face value, but they aren't worth anything more than a quarter. Yours looks more plated than env. damaged, but sometimes it's hard to tell without viewing the coin in hand.
