A lot of the conf. notes are repros anyway, but if they were real they are trash now.
You need to look to see if the signatures are actually in ink, or have been printed by a copier.

If it were mine, I know what I'd do. I'd have a replacement board made for the drawer, and keep the one with the confederate currency intact as is. Framed, it tells a heckuva neat story. Add some historical context and research and whammo, an exhibit.

That is so completely cool. I live down south and one of my best friends is a confederate paper money nut. Unfortunately any true value was ruined when they notes were glued to the drawer. But what an awesome piece. I would frame the entire drawer bottom for display. If that drawer bottom is in your way, send me a PM. I would gladly take it off your hands.

Well of course! I fear I may be getting dangerously close to infringing on forum rules here though.

I’m not sure where you heard that, but counterfeit CSA notes decoupaged to wood is not currently on my bucket list.

You have to use a central element of a coin exhibit when and where you find it. I should soon be receiving an actual small piece of the Challenger orbiter from an ex-inlaw who worked at the forensic reconstruction of it, and who is now deceased. If you think that baby WON'T be surrounded by space shuttle exonumia and in an ANA exhibit, guess again, folks.

Sounds interesting, but I don’t see the correlation.

A relic with a story. It sucks people in.

The condition looks poor at best. The only way these are worth anything is to sell as found and use a sales pitch rich in history and a good story line. Otherwise they're worth less than face. lol :)

Most look like modern replicas - contemporary counterfeits have some value, modern replicas do not. I'd wager near all are modern replicas.
