I'm usually good at these but this one has nothing on it to identify it. Any help? The year is 1352 on the Islamic calendar.
I checked the year and denomination and could not find anything like it in Krause except for several coins listed in the Unusual Sources listed as Tarim Medallic Coinage (Bernard M. O'Hea Issues) No images were shown so I don't know if it matches or not.
Really? I paid a dollar and figured I was out a dollar. I say disappointing because I don't collect fantasy coinage so I thought I'd found something unusual that was a standard issue.
Well either way you got a sweet deal. I paid a bit over $50 for the set of four, which is also a good deal, but not nearly as good as the one you got.
That's good. I've learned that when I see something I've never seen before, I should probably buy it. Doesn't always work out, but sometimes it does.
I have one of these items, acquired in the 1960's from a California coin dealer's "junk box". 23mm, 3.95gm, metal appears to be aluminum-bronze or brass Does anyone know how did Numista come up with the AD year 1965 for the AH year 1352? "** Exonumia ** - Fantasy issues - Tarim" https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia-206.html#devise6037
there are online date conversion sites as well as a formula that I don't recall. note: is is not as simple as adding 622 to the AH date as the Muslims use a lunar calendar
