    I bought this about a month or so ago, specifically with this thread in mind, and the fact that I liked the look of this coin.

    The pics are 1 stop over-exposed, as the dark grey areas are closer to black. I may re-shoot this when I get home.

    Love that Morgan! For some weird reason, I'd rather collect them like that than in Mint State! Not that I've ever collected Morgan dollars.

    Here's another one in modest grade that I liked for its toning.

    That 1907 V-nick is awesome!

    The black-and-white contrast on the reverse of the Aussie 6d is very cool, too.

    Thanks!

    I spotted that 1907 for 3 bucks and it was a no-brainer. Replaced a higher grade coin in my 7070 because as a circcam lover, I'll take character and eye appeal that speaks to me any day over a higher grade.

    That also belongs in the "Cheap Coin That Makes You Happy" thread!

    Speaking of 3-dollar beauties, and cheap-but-cheerful coins, this one's worth about 3 bucks but only cost me about a dime, since it was in a bulk bag.

    It's not exactly got true "CircCam" contrast, but definitely a great grey look. These copper-nickel Portuguese types usually come in nice grey and/or olive tones, after circulation. I've loved this type since I was a kid, and have occasionally thought about collecting them.

    Nickel-brass, 24 mm.

    Another "three-buck-ish" coin that likely cost me about a dime in bulk.

    It's more of a CircCam on the reverse but the obverse still has that nice dark patina.
