Probus times 3! Today I have three coins that I found sort of all over the place. None of which cost me more than $20. Which I like. Very much. Each of them has some scarcer quality about it, which makes their arrival exciting. I have taken to paying all of my bills online so I can only expect coins in the mail now lol. First up is another addition to my CLEMENTIA TEMP sub collection. The scarce quality on this coin is full silvering. These coins did not wear well when it came to preserving their silvering, so to find one this nice for under $20 was a joyous moment for me. Probus, Antoninianus, CLEMENTIA TEMP AR Antoninianus Probus Augustus: 276 - 282AD Issued: 276AD 22.0mm 4.30gr 6h O: IMP CM AVR PROBVS AVG; Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust, right. R: CLEMENTIA TEMP; Probus standing right on left, holding scepter, receiving globe from Jupiter to right, holding scepter. Exergue: Γ, above line; XXI, below line. Antioch Mint RIC V-2, 921, Γ; Sear (2000) 11960, Γ. Aorta: 1985: B87, O25, R13, T95, M1. GAC-Coins 142667215337 2/3/18/ 2/20/18 The second addition is of a scarcer reverse legend, TEMPORVM FELICITAS. I may have seen one or two of these floating around over the last few years but not many by any means. Again, a nice coin with sort of a brassy wear to it but still with substantial silvering. A happy add since I had no representatives of the type before now. Probus, Antoninianus, TEMPORVM FELICITAS AE Antoninianus Probus Augustus: 276 - 282AD Issued: 277AD 22.0mm 3.60gr 0h O: IMP CM AVR PROBVS AVG; Radiate, cuirassed bust, right. R: TEMPORVM FELICITAS; Felicitas standing right, holding caduceus and cornucopia. Exergue: I Lugdunum Mint Period 1, 3rd Emission, 1st Officina. RIC V-2, 52; Cohen 729; Bastien 176. Aorta: 1501: B72, O25, R168, T14, M3. shaker303/Charles Hubbard 202212230909 2/10/18 2/21/18 Finally, a little less presentable, but still a scarcer mintmark combination of star and XXIT. Theoretically these should not be that scarce but usually I do not see this combination for RESTITVT ORBIS. So at $10, I was excited to grab it. The letters in the exergue are hard to read unless you have a loop, but with a loop you can clearly see the star above the exergue and XXIT in the ex. Probus, Antoninianus, RESTITVT ORBIS AE Antoninianus Probus Augustus: 276 - 282AD Issued: 278AD 24.0 x 23.0mm 3.10gr 2h O: IMP C PROBVS PF AVG; Radiate, cuirassed bust, right. R: RESTITVT ORBIS; Probus standing left on right, holding globe and scepter, facing Orbis to left, holding wreath. Exergue: (Star), above line; XXIT, below line. Siscia Mint RIC V-2, 733, Bust F, XXIT. Aorta: B72, O63, R119, T78, M6. numis-kimel 282821127138 1/26/18 2/20/18 I feel like I owe Probus some advertising as I haven't focused on him so much recently. Here is a status report on the Probus collection. I am proud of assembling so many mintmark combinations of several reverse legends. It is fun to try and cherrypick them even though I might literally be the only one who cares, haha. http://www.forumancientcoins.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=6322 Feel free to add any Probus or your favorite third century contestant!

Nice set of scores. I really appreciate that probus left us so many interesting coins to collect now. I have found many good ones in uncleaned lots. John
@dougsmit I think I can count on you to have a rare related issue! Very nice! @ken454 @randygeki snd @Ajax those are all very nice additions. Where did you pick up the Probus Ajax? I might have bid on it or a very similar piece. @Theodosius I have limited experience with uncleaned lots. It would be great to buy one and discover all bronzes of Probus.
