I saw this in a seller's inventory, and I knew I had to make it mine. This is the most colorfully toned example of this coin I've ever seen. It's not an uncommon coin - you can go on Ebay and find several of them any time you want. But it is very uncommon to find them with this eye appeal. This coin is a little bit smaller than a Morgan dollar, for reference. It is currently slabbed by PCGS. I disagree with their grade, so I'll be sending it to NGC. So, guess what PCGS called it, and guess what I think it should be. The seller's photos are first, mine are second:
Beautiful coin! I don't know anything about them, but I'm gonna guess PCGS gave it high AU/low MS and it should be more like high (64-65?) MS.
Well, definitely no rubs on this coin. I'm a bit confused by the AU guesses, but I have the advantage of seeing the coin in hand. Very good guess! The coin is currently graded 65 by PCGS, and I think it is a 66*. They recently started awarding Stars to foreign coins, and if this one doesn't make it I don't know what would.
Best of luck and keep us updated as I think this one should get the bump! NGC does seem to be somewhat inconsistent with the star, but this coin deserves it!
